Timepiece like a Rock Star

A common childhood dream for every music loving child is to grow up and be a rock star like the rock stars they’ve looked up to for most of their lives. Maybe sometimes that particular dream doesn’t work out the way you wanted to because life has something better in store (hopefully), but there are always some ways you can still achieve what rock stars embody like their style or way of life. We came up with a pretty cool list of some pretty cool rock stars that had some pretty cool watches back in the day. Check it out below and let us know what you think!

1. John Lennon and Oris Artelier Complication

John Lennon from the Beatles (shame on you if you didn’t know that) had a pretty nifty watch collection during his days on Earth. Here he is pictured showing off one of his many wristwatches for the fluttering paparazzi that always managed to chase him down and photograph him. Although his bright blue long sleeve shirt is kind of covering his flashy watch, its features are still noticeable with the brown leather straps, round case, and gold boarder. Although this watch here doesn’t have a gold boarder , but instead a silver one, it has that similar classic style. This classic timepiece is a Swiss-made watch by Oris and made with sterling silver with rose-gold, scratch resistant sapphire, and genuine croc-strap. It is simply cool and will match with everything.

2. Buddy Guy and Bulova Marine Star Watch

Nothing makes us happier than this picture of Buddy Guy, his Grammy, and that big, contagious smile. Buddy Guy is an American blues guitarist and singer who had made himself a name in the early 1950s and has worked with the Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Eric Clapton, and basically everyone equally as important as Guy himself. He is extremely repsected in the blues and R&B comminity because of he was a pioneer of all the music we listen to today. The watch he is seen wearing here matches his Grammy with the yellow gold watch and gold face. This watch by Boluva from their Marine Star collection matches perfect with the one Guy is wearing. It is gold plated stainless steel, has four complications and has a beautiful black dial color. Bold and innovative, just like Buddy Guy!

3. Roger Daltrey and Bulova Curv Watch

Dubbed the loudest band in the world, Roger Daltrey was the lead singer for the Who and they certainly made a name for themselves and started the trend of “louder is better”. For being a band of the sixties, this band was so different they managed to avoid any unwanted comparisons to the Beatles or the Rolling Stones while still being a household name in their very own respect. When we searched for images of Daltrey and his watches, the first image that came up was this advertisement he did for Bulova. Daltrey made it really easy to find a gold Bulova watch. In 2.1 seconds, we found this beautiful gold Bulova watch on Medawar Jewelers‘ website. It is yellow gold plated stainless steel, scratch resistant sapphire, with two complications, and a champagne colored dial. Its almost as beautiful as this beauty shot of Daltrey in the ad.

4. Johnny Cash and Oris Big Crown Original Pointer Date

Country’s most beloved rock star is none other than Johnny Cash and his profound and meaningful lyrics that drowned out all the lovey-dovey substanceless music that polluted most of radio’s airwaves during the 50’s. He is most definitely identified for his deep voice, black hair, sleek and simple style, and that glossy pomp on his head. Here in this photograph, he is seen wearing a silver watch similar to this watch here by Oris from their Aviation collection. Its got a black dial, stainless steel case, and one complication. A simple watch for a simple guy.

5. Mick Jagger and Raymond Weil Freelancer

If you want moves like Jagger, you’ve got to have this watch by Raymond Weil from the Freelancer collection. It is has got leather straps, three complications, and a stainless steel case. Simple yet cool. Mick Jagger, lead singer of the Rolling Stones that have been together for over 50 years and counting (once again, shame on you if you didn’t know that), is known for his wild rock and roll ways, extravagant lifestyle, and of course, the music that made the world turn for decades and decades. He and fellow band member Kieth Richards listened to a lot of American blues artists that became the most influential sound behind the music of the Rolling Stone and their lyrics. Here for a photo shoot, Mick is seen in a very sophisticated watch that could be something he owned given that he and John Lennon both had large collections of luxury items. If you wanna be like a rock star on this list, Mick is probably the biggest one of them all.

6. Nile Rodgers and Bulova Classic Watch

So Nile Rodgers is a master musician. He was a pioneer in the beginnings of the 70s disco era, survived the death of disco by continuing to play disco through other artists, and has been dubbed “The Hitmaker” because of his astounding work with Madonna, Mick Jagger, Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk, David Bowie, Lady Gaga, Diana Ross, Sister Sledge, and countless others. Although Nile is mostly behind the scenes, he is nothing less of a rock star as he was inducted into the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of fame for his impressive work. Here Nile is seen at a launch party and proudly shows off a watch of his. Similar to the one Nile is wearing is this Bulova watch from their Classic collection. It is made with alligator leather, a rose gold over stainless steel case, and has one complication. Nothing really says classic like this watch, or like all the classic hits Nile Rodgers wrote himself of course.
