At LJ&T we have a healthy obsession with timepieces, but we like to consider other important men’s fashions from time to time. This week, we will be looking at the all-important men’s designer wedding bands and trends that are sure to dominate this year.
More often than not, brides-to-be are the ones who get an endless selection of shapes, styles, and cuts for their bridal jewelry, but contemporary designers such as Triton, Lashbrook, and Benchmark are more and more crafting fashion-forward men’s wedding bands that are both comfortable and handsome.
Looking towards the future in bridal fashions, we’ve compiled a list of trends to watch in men’s wedding bands this coming year.
2018 Men’s Wedding Band Trend #1: Mixed Metals
When it comes to wedding bands, why choose between white gold and platinum when you can choose both?Effortlessly cool, mixed metal bands allow for men to select from more than one refined look and feel. Already a popular choice among fashionable men, mixed metal bands (also known as combination metal bands) offer grooms a unique look and the chance to select among more than one of their favored precious metal look.
As one of the best in bridal, Simon G. perfectly crafts men’s wedding bands that are not only big but bold. Our Simon G. men’s wedding bands picks pictured above (model #LG168 and #LG100) elegantly showcase the multiple ways combination metal bands can look. Both featured selections feature 14-karat white gold and 14-karat yellow gold but can be customized with platinum and 14-karat rose gold metals.
Further, to really highlight the trend, it’s best to select among vastly different colors to really emphasize the stark contrast in materials. For example, the pieces from Lashbrook also work to illustrate the varying distinctions in metals. Masters of their craft, Lashbrook is a leader in utilizing innovative and usual metals in their creations. Boasting “Endless options. Endless possibilities,” Lashbrook extends their fans combination pieces that merge the sophistication of classic metals with literally “out-of-this-world” materials. Two such wedding bands that beautifully illustrate the futuristic trend are the above wedding bands (models #Z7F15 and #90110). The bridal band pictured on the left is made of zirconium and centuries-old meteorite, while the band on the right is made of Damascus steel and hardwood, making for striking and chic rings for any man to wear. The combination materials in these bands not only provide a nice contrast in colors, but in the material texture. The more unique materials such as Lashbrook’s many choices (others include Elysium, Cerakote, Tungsten Ceramic, etc.) have very distinct looks to them that when combined into one band exude their own individual looks.
2018 Men’s Wedding Band Trend #2: Diamonds
One of the simplest ways of elevating your bridal ring look is simply to get a wedding band with one or more brilliant diamonds or colored gemstones. Modern designers have perfected the craft of placing diamonds onto wedding bands and currently create impressive looks that are masculine and flashy.
Distinguished jewelry designer CrownRing crafts one of our favorite colored diamond looks. A standout in their Diamond collection, CrownRing wedding band (model #WB-9615) is perfectly crafted out of 14-karat white gold, as well as is made with smaller black diamonds in a modern style. For men of taste, CrownRing’s diamond wedding band features an eternity style diamond setting meaning the black diamonds are placed all around the band.
Our other pick, from Hearts on Fire are said to use only “The World’s Most Perfectly Cut Diamonds” and also ethically-sourced precious metals. A more classic look for the dapper man, this band (the Distinguished Diamond Ring) uses only one diamond, but has an original look due to being placed in a square-shaped setting. Whether opting for one or many more than one diamond, diamond-adorned wedding bands are an elegant addition to a fashionable man’s ensemble.
2018: Men’s Wedding Band Trend #3: Beveled Edges
Finally, if you are looking for sophisticated, a beveled edge wedding band is the one for you. Typically seen as comfort-fit bands with a satin finish in the center and a polished beveled edge on each side, these rings were made for the classic man who is looking for just a hint of modern flair to their bands. The sleek beveled edges are a very demure way of creating an overall alluring aesthetic, while the band itself maintains a chic, clean look.
Last, but certainly not least, the artful creations from Benchmark and Triton are sure hits among men of all taste preferences. The shiny finish to both these bands (models #CF67861CMCC and #11-2330C-G) are a great way to add a dash of stylish sophistication to any wardrobe. Crafted to perfection out of tungsten and cobalt, these bands are not only captivating but built to last a lifetime of happy wear.
